Hello HT, just like the title says... i recently bought a 98 Honda Civic LX Sedan with a California Salvage Certificate. I didn't know it had salvage certificate because the person i bought it from said that it was already issued a CA salvage title. but when i went to the dmv, they gave me a salvage certificate instead. The car's already smogged, brake/lamp inspection done, all fees have been already, and vin inspection is done too... but then here's the problem. The DMV referred me to have a CHP inspection. Well my question is what does the CHP inspection check for? Also I dont have any receipts to show because i did not replace/fix anything on it. The previous owner told me that his AAA insurance salvaged it because of theft recovery and all that the thieves stole was the battery, cd player deck, and wheels...so those parts have been replaced already by previous owner. Please help, im like stressing.. My CHP inspection appointment is coming up and i would like to know what's up. Nothing's wrong with car. It's seriously drives and looks like a brand new car. Also, can someone be willing to run a carfax report for me? Thanks & Much appreciated.

I know they're gonna check if all the brake lamps and head lights work properly, dunno what else. Don't sweat it though, its just a simple inspection that will take less than 15mins.

You'll think the CHP would "trip" if i dont have any receipts? Oh btw, thanks for the quick response

Just take the car to the inspection as requested by the DMV. Then go from there.
