Just Bought a 96dx with d16y7...iso oppinions
just bought my first car, its a 97 dx with a d16y7 swap. the orignal motor was pulled and this was put in place. its got a set of headers, high flow cats, cat back and an intake. this is all i know. no ps or a/c. what do i have here and what potental does this motor i have. i know my hondas to an extent. would a b18c swap be do-able with the obd2? or would i convert it. do d series turbo well?

if you havent been here check it out.
http://www.d-series.org
best web site for a d motor.
you have a stock dx motor wich is a d16y7. it has a long geared tranny. if you wanna stay with that motor olny real power adders(without boost) is a mini me swap, (d16y8 head wich is out of a ex) and a y8 tranny.(ex tranny)
for the money it cost for that^ just save up for a b series swap. b18b are fairly cheap and i think there better than a b16 because of the toruqe. b18bs are also cheaper than a b16. theres unlimted things you can do. if you have money lol. search

yea y8 is closer. i blew my dx tranny up and swapped it in with a ex and theres a big difference. like i said tho i paid 180 for my ex tranny and it was out of a 95. ex trannys arent cheap.

180 is cheap i paid 460 dollars for mine.. And dude the best thing u can do is mini me it.. Then to some research and boost it ive done the mini me swap with your exact motor i was very happy with the outcome i got but yet again now im not so i wanna turbo but mini me is the best way to go
