Virgin 96 DX hatch - WI winter car turned rally ice bot?
 

For those that don't know me, here is my current shiv.

Well, like the title says I just picked up a 96 hatch for $1000. Not a bad gig eh?

So my decision is, do I just keep it stock-ish and avoid raping it of it's pride as a daily driven commuter car, or do I turn it into my ice-racing Wisconsin road raping rally bot of a winter car? Maybe I could just do some subtle JDM goodies and leave it alone? Maybe a transplant to bring it back to life. Any money that goes into the DX doesn't go into the Sol, so I'm sitting at a cross-roads.

What does anyone think?

So, what are you're needs: Reliable, dependable, cheap and relatively slow transportation - or -the other side of this description?

I consider the del Sol pretty much done except for maybe some seats and/or a cage depending on which route I go to finish it up.

The hatch is basically my winter beater, so reliabilty is the priority, but low investment is also a plus. I'd rather spend the money and do it right the first time, so second hand parts don't sound fun right now.

I'm thinking of getting some thin moldings, maybe the SiR JDM front and rear bumpers, painting them all to match, and throwing some silver HX rims on it with some Blizzaks. Probably a Mugen cluster just because it's sexy as shit. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

i just say start something new since u said that your del sol is pretty much done.........

if i had lots of money... what i would do is.... get a warhouse garage... or poll barn.. put the sol in there with a cover and start a collection...
