just bought 2000 civic HX.. HELP please.
i just bought a 2000 civic HX and i love it! but there are problems.. when i drive it feels like the car is "bogging" out or sputtering. and its REALLY slow! and it is especially slow wen i have the A/C on. i have previously owned another honda.. it was a 98 DX and it was much faster with no parts. i dont know whats going on? and also to add to that what are people getting with the gas mileage.. im only getting 25 MPG is this normal? thanks in advance. please keep negative comments to self thanks.

well, it is an hx, so its not going to be overly fast, and the a/c sucks power, so thats gonna slow you down some......sounds like you have more of a problem though.

how many miles on the motor? did the owner of the car do the usual maintence on it? what i would do is do a oil change with engine restoratoin fluid, pour some fuel injection cleaner in the fuel system, spray your throttle body with cleaner, replace pcv vavle, check spark plugs,...basically after you buy a car do a regular maintence check/work on the car...

Did you give it a tune up yet? Spark plugs, distributor/rotor cap, wires, oil, maybe some fuel system cleaner? If not do it and see what happens.

check your distributor and or its maybe your injectors need to be cleaned out just do a tune up on the whole car see what happens ac sucks power also like they said

hhmm yeah the oil and stuff was changed before i bought the car. but im gona check the spark plug wires and stuff... thanks for everyones input!
