Default Junkyard Car

Anyone here gotten there civic/crx from a junkyard and restored it??
I'm trying to restore a civic, and I'm just wondering how much on average $$ I could obtain one with a decent body, and possibly the whole engine+tranny intact.

Look around. Non junkyard cars can be cheap enough if you're patient and get a little lucky. My buddy's restoring a low-rust 94 cx hatch that he bought 95% intact and running with a bad headgasket for $800. So far, he has about $75 in it, and has a good daily driver. He's going to repair the rust, hail damage, repaint, swap, and drop, and have a great car for a few thousand (he does paint and body for a living, so no scare).

It really depends on what you're looking for. Obviously EM1s are going to be expensive, even from a junkyard. Keep in mind that rebuilding anything from a junkyard is going to have a salvage title. I'd think you can find a more intact restoration candidate for almost as cheap and still with a clean title on the street somewhere. Hope you know how to do body work though, because that's usually what makes them so cheap.
