J's racing intake, and a question. :)
J's racing intake. yay! i had a polished AEM but with my Jim fab cross member I couldn't use it anymore, so I sold it, and put a little more money into this one. Just thought I'd give it a try and since I can't run a CAI anymore I just went with this one.
mmmmmm JDM cardboard....
Odd shaped fella.
Carbon fiber, not carbon fiber look a like
If anyone knows. Do I really have to screw this into my pretty intake? I see now holes for this anwhere. I'm thinking of not even using it.
Let me know what you think.

It is a mounting bracket for sure, I believe that you can bend it in sort of a U shape or
|__|------------ (<- poor illustration) on one end and put it under the hose clamp on the filter and then fasten the other side to a bolting location on the chassis(might require some more bending) to keep it secure. I have done it this way before and it works fine.

On my RS Akimoto intake I used to have, it had something similar. The short part of the metal fit underneith the metal hose clamp on the filter end, therefore holding it in place. And then you have the long metal peice sticking out, which bolts to the chassis where available.... ah ****, let me draw a pic.

Thanks for the picture, while looking at it I was figured it would go one like you stated.
I'm gonna see how holds on without it. I'd rather not drill any more holes in engine bay, but if need be i will.
Well i took the intake and put it to my Ericks Racing throttle body. Tight fit but it went. Here some pix
