Default j's intake on b18c swap...FINAL VERDICT!

i have done much searching and have not come to a final conclusion. i have a gsr engine in my ek hatch and want to know if the real j's racing intake will fit around the throttle body and in the space provided. if not then what mods needs to be done for it to fit properly. thanks for the help

i'm not sure about your question, but i have one for you. i just recently bought a 2000 hatch, and i was planning on doing either an H22 or a Gsr swap. Have you taken your car to the track, and if so what times have you posted up? also are you pleased with the power your Gsr swap has produced in your ek Hatch?
Bump for the info bro

the power is very nice and i am very pleased with this swap. i have plans to turbo it sometime in the future and would recomend this swap to anyone. although the H22 can make some impressive numbers. back to the topic...is this possible to have the j's intake or is a new IM needed. help please. thanks

yes, it is possible to have a j's inatke on your gsr manifold. i'm running one in my hatch with a b series swap
it comes with an adapter piece that is shaped from small to large, so the small end fits on your manifold and the large end on the intake.

Is there going to be enough room with the GSR intake mani, since the throttle body sits so low in the engine bay, and the fat J's intake has to snake around the shock tower

what all did you have to do to put on the skunk2 intake manifold. i heard you have to get a new itr cable and move the rotor and what not. is this ture or does the skunk 2 manifold just bolt right up. how do you like the combination. can you feel a good power gain??

I used my GSR cable, a 93 CX rotor and made a cable plate/holder out of some scrap metal.
works like a champ

You can use the GSR throttle cable on the Skunk intake mani, I did for about a year, but I changed it, I prefer the TypeR cause it looks cleaner.

it will fit. just order whatever intake is for the engine, it will all fit fine, especially on a short ram intake

I have a Injen RD cai one piece intake on my JDM B18C engine in my 99 civic hatch.. it's made for the engine and fit's perfectly. no modifications needed.

All the engine bay layouts are practically the same.

hmmm....i'm wondering about this intake thing now. i have a 91 hatch with a built motor and well...here's the engine bay:

do they make a J's intake for this chassis?
i may have to relocate my battery though...weak sauce...
that throttle cable looks pretty jacked....i'm gonna have to replace that thing

http://it will fit. just order whate....

the thing is that they dont make the j's intake for a gsr... i just need to know if you need the skunk 2 manifold to properly install the j's intake on the gsr engine or if it will work fine even though the throttle body is so low. i also need to know if the skunk 2 manifold bolts right up and i still can use my stock cable and stock throttle body. thanks for all the help

Right, but the J's intake is not shaped like a regular short ram or cold air intake, it bulges out quite a bit in the middle.

If you relocate the battery, then a J's intake for the SiR should fit. It'll place the filter right behind the passenger headlight, just above that factory hole.

so how does the j's intake perform with your current setup? do you have dyno numbers prior to the j's intake and numbers now?

is there a gsr "version" of the j's racing intake. some people say that there is and some say it doesnt exist. i am having a hard time finding one. would you recomend the skunk 2 manifold with bigger throttle body and j's intake as far as performance?
