Re: JR supercharger-need advice (bishop)
The install should be pretty straightforward if your competent with regular tools. Keep in mind though, the install probably will not take you 6-8 hours (as Jackson claims) unless you rush like you life depends on it. Put aside an entire weekend....even more. Little things will come up, get stuck, and break. You'll make a few runs to Pep Boys and Home Depot.
For safety and reliability these are some things to get:
-JR MAP Converter
Allows you to run less fuel pressure, advance the timing closer to stock, smoother transition from vacuum to boost, should eliminate any tip-in detonation.
-Boost, air-fuel, and fuel pressure guages.
Very good to have to make sure things are working properly and allows you to be proactive in the event something is not.
-Colder spark plugs
Helps to prevent detonation.
-Lower Temp Thermostat
Engine runs cooler, helps prevent detonation.
These are the basics for a safe, inexpensive set-up. There are many, many other routes to take to ensure engine longevity and maximum performance, but at a much higher price. E-mail me if you have more questions. As you can see below I have a SC'd SOHC too.
