I had the coating on my JDM 4-1 header. It looks great. It also cost almost $200 with shipping charges when all was said and done.

Would I do it again. No!!! This reason is that performance gains are not perceptible. It looks cool, but for the $600+ I spent on the header and coating, I could have gotten a better header that was already Stainless steel and looked better than the Jet Hot coated jdm ITR header...

http://www.swaintech.com I bought my apexi header used w/ the swaintech coating and it is still on there. Even on the places where I bottomed out the header the coating still sticks. After about 15 mins of sitting, the headers are cool to the touch
Only downside, not pretty.

If you don't know what the **** you're talking about, don't talk .

Jet HOT coating is great stuff for reducing underhood temperatures and dissipating heat very rapidly. On a big V8 it makes quite a noticable difference, but there's a ton more exhaust gas involved. On a Honda, it would benefit you the most if you got a turbo manifold, intercooler piping and perhaps the turbo housing itself (and impeller) coated, because it would rediculously reduce the temperature of the air charge and help keep the ambient heat down.

Coating a Honda header for $200 is not worth it, though.

EDIT: one of the things Jet Hot prides themselves on is the impact, scuff and wear resistance of their products, contrary to what the asshat I quoted said, and thus would work well on, say, a full exhaust system or intake .

Heat wrapping is a great way to add weight and put stress on the header. It actually doesn't even decrease underhood temps that much.

For turbo apps, go for it. N/A I wouldn't. Kinda ugly, and I've heard of horror stories when water got behind the wrap and rusted the header to hell. Actually I guess that would go for the turbo apps. too. So never mind what I was saying

actually heat wrap on headers is for keeping heat in the header higher so it flows better. not for cooling it down

ive used jet hot ceramic and jet hot 2000 they lower under hood temps alot and look great. definatly worth every penny

it will never wear off with normal use youd have to grind it off and if it ever does have a problem theyll recoat it free anyway. FOREVER!!!

we recommend Jet hot coating headers to help increase the lifetime of the header. an uncoated header is exposed to the water and can deteriorate in time due to rust.

heres an example of some Bisimoto headers we sell coated and uncoated
