JDMSHIT Front Lip fitment?!
My gf ordered a mugen style cf front lip and a ctr style grille for her 97 coupe.
The lip comes with a bit of a scratch on it, not a huge deal... but kind of disappointing. It kind of rubbed out so its not so standing out plus its on the top where the grille on the bumber is so its not really noticeable. Here's the problem, we put the lip up to fit, and it fits ok I guess on the drivers side including the wheel well, but on the passenger side it sticks out a good 1 1/2 inches and there is no way to bend this and make it look the way its supposed to. Is this normal or just a bad fit? I want to send it back because it doesnt fit and to say to hell with it. The quality of the cf is good but the fit is terrible. Plus no mounting hardware came with it, but that prolly isnt a big issue either.
What do you guys think?

Huh, mine fit well. It hung out a little bit on one side, but once I got a screw in it it tightened right up. Definately PM Newman and see what he says. JDMShit gets a from me though!

Re: (jamesr)
She had a real ctr on before, fit good, but then again its from honda.
Also, when she called and ordered, the guy told her that it was pre drilled and came with all the mounting hardware just like her jdm ctr lip.
Im not trying to knock jdmshit, this is our first experience with them and I am just stating facts.
Yes I have pm'd newman and left a message because their shop is closed at 4pm pacific time.

Re: JDMSHIT Front Lip fitment?! (Doctor CorteZ)
My experience with them has been mixed. Everything I've ordered from them has had fitment issues, but the quality of the actual product has been exceptional.

Re: (ITRacer121)
And you guys are ok with this or why didn't you call them and ask them? Has anyone returned anything to them or had problems? I mean for what I paid for it, I would rather go the extra and find a real OEM one. (This is Niki btw)

I don't think anything that I've ever gotten for my car has fit perfectly. That's just how it is. I never had any major problems with Newmans products though. If it's a little off I just make it work as best as possible. On mine now you can't even tell that there was a problem. I'm sure Newman will take care of this for you if you really aren't happy with it.

We send out an invoice with every order. If you purchased a lip and another item (grill in this case), the invoice in on the outside of the box in a shipping label pouch, with the shipping label itself adhered to the top of the pouch.

If a lip is "pre-drilled" then it's used. We don't sell lips that have been predrilled so you get a brand new lip. I answered you PM about returning it.

Re: (Newman)
I sent the lip out yesterday by postal service. The shipping was horrendous and they almost didn't take it back even though it was shipped by them. Ridiculous.
Also just to clear things up a bit, when I called initially to order the lip, I specifically told the guy I had a OEM CTR lip previously and it has holes in it to fit up to the underside of the lip. He said oh yeah it does. I also asked him if it would come with the hardware to fit it and he said he would. I got neither. So I don't know what the correct term for that is, however I felt I was mislead.

Are these the so called ABS plastic lips everyone is buying? Those lips are crap. Terrible fitment. Half the time they don't fit and the end sides aren't even cut properly. Stay away from cheap ABS plastic lips...
The only lips that fit are JDM OEM lips, Wingwest, Greddy, Tsunami, and any of those JDM bodykit (AUTHENTIC) companies such as C-west, Bomex, Mugen etc. No fake knockoffs...

i got a mugen lip from jdmshit also and the fitment was horrible, but i also believe
that not all 100% of all the lips are gonna fit great, i just got a crappy one, give
him a call im sure he'll give you another one no problem.

Re: JDMSHIT Front Lip fitment?! (CoolKat)
I'm sending it back for a refund. It's just a pita for him to keep sending them if they won't fit ya know? I just wish we had a place around here where I could go and see it and test fit and then buy. I live in central IL. Then I think hell, why even dump anymore money into my car, I want a four door eventually. The carbon fiber was flawless on the lip, that part was beautiful. It just didn't fit snug and I didn't want to break it and then be out a lip and the money. It wasn't cheap either. I only paid $250 for my OEM CTR lip and this was $195.

I never had a problem with US Honda parts fitting.
