Icon2 JDM ZC engine: Help! Water Pump and Timing Belt??

Hi guys,

I have a JDM ZC non-VTEC SOHC in my 94 Civic CX (Canadian). Bought water pump that was supposed to fit with ANY 5th Gen. non-VTEC Civic regardless of where it was made or engine size, but the "mechanic" says it doesn't fit.

I live in remote area with only a backyard "mechanic" and have to get parts transported in, so can't really take old part to part store and ask for equivalent.

Engine only says 16 Valve Honda Motor Co. on it, and engine # is ZC 3202 519.

Ancient history swap consequence... Does anyone know a part number or other identifier for the parts I need: water pump, timing belt, valve/tappet cover gasket and four gaskets for the spark plug holes.

Or can you point me to an "old timer" who could tell me what parts I need? I've seen a few posts online about ZCs but haven't found my answer. I changed the timing belt on my previous 84 civic with my dad, but wasn't up for tackling this one myself.

I have photos but guess I can't post attachments... gonna try to post one as my profile photo. Mechanic says linear edge by right side of photo should be 1/2 farther right: part is too small.

Thanks!!
Beth

I think I might have found the answer to my question in this post, but not sure how to confirm this!

Maybe timing belt and water pump from D16A6 fit on ZC SOHC?

The following post from ZCR.com seems to suggest so:

Now as far as the wiring goes I can help as when I did the SOHC ZC swap I already had a 91 Si. Also to note yes the Cyl Position sensor is in the distr and I do believe they didnt have the Crank sensor

Any comments?

Thanks!!

Thanks for the advice... maybe one day!
If only it were that easy to identify the right water pump: seems like it should be, right? No certain luck that way so far. But somebody must know!

You need to order a timing belt and water pump for a 88-91 civic si. Yes that is an A6 motor. Your welcome

If your engine looks like this:

or this:

A timing belt and water pump from a D16A6 ('88 - '91 Civic Si) should fit.

The biggest problem with ZCs are there are so many different variants (at least 8 that I can think of)
