Default jdm swap question

I swapped a jdm b16 from hmotorsonline.com into my 99 Si and have a question about one of the leftover plugs from my harness. There's a plug on the usdm b16 that the jdm b16 doesn't have its down at the bottom of the engine behind the timing belt cover. This is the only thing leftover from the swap that didn't have anything to plug into. We took the timing belt cover off of the usdm b16 and pulled the it out and its some kind of sensor bolted in place. The jdm b16 doesn't have a spot for it behind the timing belt cover. The car runs fine without any check engine lights but my speedo has been acting funny since the swap. I'll be driving 60 and the needle will jump back and forth to zero every now and then. I'm wondering if this plug has something to do with it or my vss is going bad. Any suggestions?

The missing plug is for the CKF (crank fluctuation sensor). I don't think it should affect your speedo.

As stated previously, it's the Crank Flux sensor. If your using the Si's stock ECU, then you will have to swap the oil pump with flux sensor from your old motor (or buy a new OBD-2 oil pump & sensor). If your using the ECU that comes with the motor swap from Hmotors (which I doubt you are), then you won't need that sensor or it's matching oil-pump...

i'm using the stock ecu in my 99 si. i searched the site and found a way to bypass the crank sensor by splicing some wires on the ecu tricking it to thinking it's still plugged in. we took the timing belt cover off of the jdm engine and noticed there was no spot for the crank sensor to bolt inside of.

So what about your speedo. Check the connetion at the vss on top of the tranny where the axles go in. sometimes the terminals can get pushed out of the plug so check them if it is intermitant it could be the guage cluster

i did the bypass trick on the crank fluctuation sensor so far so good. whats weird is that the speedo was acting fine on the ride home from work. i went ahead and ordered a new vss to be on the safe side just in case it decides to act up again. i went home and check all the grounds and the plug itself on the vss everything is good. thanks for the help guys.

tryin to get my Si running good for dyno day at Corr Performance this weekend
