JDM motor, funny VTEC sounds
ok, for those of you that have JDM motors (B18C, B16, whatever). does your VTEC activation sound different from USDM motors?? i ask because my US 99 GSR has a pop sound when VTEC activates, but my 94 JDM B18C in my hatch has a buzzing sound to it. this is the same with my buddies 1st gen JDM B16 in his 90 GS Integra.

Re: JDM motor, funny VTEC sounds (white99gsr)
I hear a pop noise during activation and a air-realease or buzzing sound when it turns off. I hope that this is normal

Mine the pitch changes a little bit. No buzzing or zipping or quacking like this guy. Its not really noticeable if its all stock.

That's beside the complete change of the engine sound and the stronger acceleration. I am guranteed that my vtec works.
