JDM ITR motor problems
I have a JDM ITR motor in my 98 DX.
Here is a dyno:
This was with a bad rotor. I changed the rotor and broke the distributor and I got 153 whp and 98 tq.
Now I got a new distributor. So I should be putting down some more but thats still not what it is supposed to put down. Torque is lower than a b16.
Im guessing maybe fuel pump....cause i have a stock civic fuel pump.
Does anyone know what pin on the JDM P73 is for the o2 signal?
Thanks

If your civic fuel pump is working correctly you should have no problems, with getting the fuel there.
Do you not have the o2 hooked up? How does it run? What have you tried? Need more info to many variables.

thats really low hp and torque. my d16 put down 110 torque.
try doing a compression and a leak down test.. u might have a problem

Yeah, the civic fuel pump should still be able to handle it unless it is actually just a bad fuel pump....
You done a compression check or anything like that? Possibly for spark, fuel pressure, etc. Those #'s are way low....

Re: JDM ITR motor problems (ill phil)
well tha ITR here does only 175-185 HP(180 = some 155WHP) on the flywheel..(whats of with that diffrens)
they are set at 2 high HP then they really do !!
and if you are running stock and not with the best parts-broken...
well i would say that fair
the TQ i dont know what is here and we do it in NM or KGm !!

something is wrong there.. really.
DO YOU HAVE A CEL? If so, then your ecu is more than likely making it run like that... depending on the code.

Re: JDM ITR motor problems (Jawad)
what year is that motor? something is wrong. do a compression test and check voltage at the O2 sensor. (O2 pin is the same as your harness.) Are you positive it is a p73 ecu?

Weird, my B18C5 put down 175whp and 123 torque with only intake, exhaust, and re-chipped P28 ECU.
What kind of car do you have it in?
What engine harness are you running?
What ECU?
Any CELs?

No CEL. ECU is a JDM p73, I put my friends JDM p73 in there and it still ran the same.
I have no idea what engine wiring harness it has.
I have changed the plugs already did nothing. I want to get complete new wiring harnesses but I dont know which one to get for a 98 dx wit a JDM ITR.
The motor is a 97.
Thanks

you should check to make sure the previous owner didn't take out the bulb for the check engine light.
When you turn the key before cranking the car does it appear?

Re: JDM ITR motor problems (ej6)
The cars lights dim and get bright according to rpm and weather im on the throttle. Im guessing this "electrical" problem isnt getting enough power to the fuel pump and im not getting enough fuel because of that.
Does anyone know what pin the o2 sensor signal is on the JDM P73, I want to hookup an air/fuel gauge and see if im running lean or not.

Hows the alternator? If your lights are going dim and getting brighter when you accelerate, you may have a bad diode/s in the alternator. Is your engine grounded properly? (you really should check that). This stuff may sound stupid, but it's important to know...
Is the idle ok?

Re: JDM ITR motor problems (Nameless)
I had an alternator...charging system check done...all is fine.
Grounding....I have grounds but the one by my tranny sparks sometimes when I start it...I took it off cleaned it but still no difference.
Sometimes idle drops low to about 400-500 rpm and car wants to stall...This happens once in a while

It sparks? lolol. Is it like fireworks? How can you see it when you start the car?
Maybe try a new fuel filter too? I dunno.. gotta take it into the shop I guess.
