JDM H22a SWAP
Aright my cars in the progress of being in a swap..
i have a 00 EJ8 and i was wondering what should i ''watch'' for in these motors...
I know they are high compression heads and its easy to over rev and eather Jump the timing or (bent the valves).....
The set up is..
JDM h22a
Accord jump harness...(94-97 i think)..
yonaka mounts
Integra shafts
And since my car is obd2 and i have a conversion harness (skunk 2)...to obd1...
Car my ECU be chipped ?!
I know obd2 ecu's cant be chipped you have to get an EMS from eather hondata or aem....depending on what you need
Thx guys!

Re: JDM H22a SWAP (h22a1_julien)
THe h22 "doesn't have steel sleeves pressed into an aluminum block. Instead the H22 is entirely aluminum, with no sleeves at all. That's great for weight savings, and the aluminum cylinder walls transfer combustion heat more effectively tha nsteel liners ( which may be why early H22s are closed deck). The downside is the distinctive bore design is bad for dropping in any aftermarket pistons."
