JDM H22 swap into 98 civic coupe...HELP!!!
okay so i have a 98 civic coupe 5 speed, and i had a 97 usdm h22 swapped in, that motor blew and i bought a 95-96 jdm h22 to replace it and now the car wont start???there is no sensor on the oil pump side of the engine of the jdm engine and there is on the usdm engine...also using the distributor from my usdm engine...i get it to crank but no spark is going to the spark plugs???what is wrong and how do i fix it???thanks

What are the CEL codes? I'd be inclined to think the distributer is the problem, considering you just said it doesn't match with the engine.

Also, JDM and USDM aren't just plug and play. There will be electronical differences and mechanical differences to some aspects.

The USDM dizzy has no crank sensor. Its on the front timing pulley on the 97 H22. The JDM H22 has the crank sensor built into the dizzy.

so will the jdm dizzy have the crank sensor on it so i can just plug it up???and then it will start just as long as that is the problem???where can i get one from???
