Default Jdm H22 from HMO motors

I recently received a H22a from HMO motors yesterday "Flipping awesome" and i noticed that the after market greddy headers i baught are actually much smaller inside diameter then the stock headers that come off the jdm h22a....

This leads me to believe that either 1 the greddy headers are **** or having a much smaller exhaust port improves scavenging so much you get much more power..

I believe I saw that the greddy headers gave you another 5hp or something stupid, not like RMF headers or the other 1000 h22 headers that are all custom designed...

Anyone have any tech specs to back up my find??

I am not sure if i should return the headers or keep stock ones.

Anyone have any thoughts?

as far as I know most stock honda header are double walled to protect against damage to the actual piping of the exhaust manifold. Which may be the reason why you think that they look small, And you have to remember the greddy part is probably CARB certified so it pobably isn't much, if any bigger than the stock one. The performance is gained through the tubular design of the greddy part, if you notice the stock header is usuall cast iron on the top half which will decrease exhaust flow drastically.

on my 1993 honda prelude si i got the h22a jdm swap from password jdm. i bought dc headers and i threw em on it and i didnt like! i put back on factor! From what i heard from a bunch or h22a freaks they say the j-spec headers are about as good as they get on that motor from factor if true j-spec!

Keep the oem header.

If you want a good upgrade, modify the collector to 2.25 or 2.5"

If you want anything more than that, you're looking at an RMF or Bisimoto header.
