JDM GSR vtec solenoid question
So I just bought my JDM GSR swap off Hmotors and I have this little thing with the vtec solenoid that I just don't get. on my last swap I had a green plug that plugged into the bottom of the the solenoid. On the new GSR which is 0bd2 and is from japland it doesn't have it. I posted pictures. Perhaps someone can shine some light on my problem. The first two pics are the obd2 jdm gsr. the second two are my old b16 head.

Re: JDM GSR vtec solenoid question (I Like Hondas)
strange...i thought every vtec solenoid had a green plug?? both of my d series (z6 and y8) have a green plug...as far as EVERY other vtec honda i have ever seen. thats just weird. why not just put another vtec solenoid on it? that should work...right? lol

Jdm motors don't use the pressure sensor. So if you get a check engine light for it, All you have to do is splice the power wire for it into the other power wire for the solenoid and ground the other one on the outside of the solenoid... hope this helps

I've heard this too, but my JDM engine has that sensor. I thought it was just B18s that didn't have it?

So what would be better at this point, use my b16 one or use the jdm one and hope I don't get a CEL?

I would ground that wire out and when you tune the car, have them disable the vtec oil pressure from it. I had to do this to my lsvtec when it threw a code and my vtec wasnt working. Have who ever chips your ECUs bypass it; works like a charm.

According to ff-squad JDM OBD2 B series engines don't have the pressure switch, all other JDM engines do.

That's when I came across the obd2 jdm gsr motors do not have the pressure sensor.
