JDM GSR Rev Limiter/Redline question
I have a 92 DX hatch with a JDM GSR mated to a B16 LSD tranny. I bought them both from Hmotorsonline.com and I have a question regarding fuel cut off/rev limiter/redline.
This is the 2nd car this motor is in. Here is a video of it in the first car. Although the sound is off, you can see the car going all the way to 8000 rpm before I shift. I wasn't hitting the rev limiter either, just shifting at 8000.
My question is this: In the second car, I'm hitting the rev limiter at 7800 rpm. It shows up the same on my autometer tach and the LX tach I have in the cluster. I'm using the same motor, ECU and harness as the first car. Is it revving to the correct rpm, but the tach isn't displaying it correctly? Is there another way to tell exactly what the motor is revving to?
Thanks for your help. If there is any questions or info that I've left out, let me know.

Re: JDM GSR Rev Limiter/Redline question (teamvirus)
Is there some other way of finding the rpm when the rev limiter hits? Like wrapping a timing light connector around the plug wire, but I don't think I can count 8000 blinking lights in 1 minute.

Yea, I thought about that, but then I wondered why both the autometer tach and the stock lx tach would be wrong.
