ok, i got the JDM EG CTR Gauge cluster for my EG. I installed, all the gauges work, BUT, I have an idiot light on that I havent seen before and i dont have on my old cluster its a circle with semi circles to the side of it like this ----> (O) <---- wtf is that? Also, the dimmer doesnt seem to work on it. I also had an extra wire from mine to this one. A plug in that goes at the bottom of the cluster and has no place on the JDM Cluster, any ideas what that is?

BTW, love the cluster though, white gauge faces, carbon fiber around where its normally just black, the needles and numbers are backlit an amber/red color. <3

all you had to do was look at the corresponding spot on the original cluster to tell

Negative, all the idiot lights are in different spots, the only thing thats in the same spot as the old one is the speedometer.. lol...

I just bought one of these clusters, and I've heard they are really dim (I havent put mine in yet).

Has anyone ever tried to take the gauges out and install them in an EX housing???

Nope, all idiot lights are in the same spot. With an addition of a catalytic converter and fuel light icons. However, if you got an SiR cluster with TCS, then the seatbelt light would be in a different spot (but you got one without TCS, so all the lights are in the same spot). The yellow plug that was removed from your USDM cluster was for the SRS and the JDM cluster does not have a plug for the SRS plug.

This will work by the way. But I think the depth of the housings are different. The JDM cluster has these plastic rings on the inside of the cluster bezel which prevents light from shining from the sides of the gauges. The USDM cluster does not. I don't think you can put the JDM bezel with the rings onto the USDM housing. So I think you'll have light shining from the sides. I've done this before, but decided not to do it before I put the cluster back.

It is somewhat dim that is true

I know there isnt a CTR EG, i had been up all night and was pretty drunk when i started this thread, i am sure i meant Si, i didnt even notice i had put ctr till you mentioned it. lol
