Default jdm engine question?

I replaced my 94 honda civic dx 1.5L engine with a jdm 1.5L engine the only difference is the new engine is a japanese engine what i want to know is they tell you to change everything on the engine basically your only suppose to use the block and replace everything else, but is it really neccasary or do they just tell you that for warrenty reasons and saftey reasons i read somewhere you have to change everything to get it to work in your car, but the warrenty only tells you to change everything for safety purposes.

1. use punctuation, one comma and one period isn't cutting it.

2. define 'everything'

hmmm... learning how to type and use punctuation is not required on honda-tech.. but back on topic.. if you just ordered an engine. it is "generally" recommended to replace the oil and water pump. also you may want to replace head gasket and timing belt, and other gaskets just to have peice of mind. but it's your money... who cares?

didn't know this was a spelling class, so generally i don't have to replace anything unless i have to the engine should run fine either way.

other gaskets. ie: Exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket

P.S. Sorry. Some people on this forum, find it necessary to insult you. When they can't answer your questions.

I'm jumping on the punctuation bandwagon here. Sorry, but it would help.

Anyway. With replacement engines, I always do the timing belt. Check the tensioner pulley for a bad bearing. Check the water pump for end-play or bad shaft bearing. If they feel like ****, replace them.
Since you have the valve cover off, use a feeler gauge and adjust the valve lapse. When you put the valve cover back on, use a new gasket. DON'T leave the cover off when installing the motor. You're bound to get some **** in there. Happened the last swap I did.
You'll also need your purge control selinoid for emissions and fuel economy. Just Zip-tie it to the firewall somewhere. Everything else should be intact.

is it the engine importer/recycler that's telling you all this?

My guess is that they mean the EGR and other USDM emissions items so the JDM engine will be up to USDM emissions spec so the man is satisfied.

actually the instant it crosses the pacific ocean the motor is rendered useless and will not run at all. this occurs thanks to a law of intercontinental drift bullshit divide

his question was too vague to answer, and lack of capitalization doesn't make it hard to understand. not knowing when he is starting and ending a sentence does. And JDM parts are the biggest rip-off in automotive parts history. I can't believe the markup people will pay for something JDM (motors not included).

if you want a basic list of parts that should be replaced for reliability reasons:

timing belt
water pump
dizzy cap and rotor
spark plugs and wires
fuel filter

If you're worried about passing emissions, that's a different story.

There's an assload of markup on motors too. I think B16's go for like $300 or less in Japanland.
