Default jdm engine bay haness has no MAP plug what to do

bought an eg6 engine bay hanress for my rhd converted hatch. problem I ran into over the weekend is there are no wires for a map sensor. I even unloomed it looking for cut wires there are none. what do I do?

do jdm eg's run different map sensors or do I have the wrong harness?

Some eg hatches that I have seen had the map plug come through the firewall. While other hatches it was on the engine harness.

what do you mean come through the fire wall? as in a firewall mounted one?

i was looking up on google and found a pic that said on a eg6 the "MAP sensor is an integral part of the throttle body"

i believe in 92 and possibly 93 the map sensor came out of the firewall.

i wish i was at the shop i work at, we have a 92 motor in a 95 civic and i had to wire up a map sensor plug.

it was pretty easy to do, i wired it straight from the shock tower plug to the map sensor.

i just dont remember which pins to wire into

please look. the eg6 clip I got i believe was a 92 or 93 because it has the older style glove box and no passenger side airbag.

if I have to run the wires to the ecu I guess ill just do that but I would like to know forsure

thats what i needed to know.

you will be using the 95 hatch interior harness correct?

and the eg6 clip enginge harness?

the reason i needed to know is because your 95 comes factory with a throttle body mounted map sensor, meaning its wired into the passenger shock tower.

the engine harness from the older eg6 clip will not have map sensor wires.

if thats the case, ill be able to help you with the wiring, i just need to go outside and take a picture of mine

this first picture is of the map sensor wiring from the shock tower to the map sensor (engine harness side)

this picture is from the ECU to the shock tower, notice the colors are different.

you need to get a map sensor with the wires and wire them to the following.

the yellow with red stripe from the map sensor connects to the green with yellow stripe at the shock tower

the green with white stripe from map sensor connects to green with blue stripe at shock tower

and the white wire from map sensor connects to the pink with white stripe at the shock tower

ill print this pic and look at it when I get home tonight. i have an old eg harness I can cut the map wires off of and ill wire them to the shock tower. thank you for your time man I appreciate it

if you are using the under dash harness, then it should have the map sensor wiring attached to it, if it in fact had a firewall mounted map sensor.

check for a green/blue green/yellow and pink /white wires at the passenger shock tower. like in my pictures, if thats the case then the eg6 had a TB mounted map sensor

there are two pictures, i edited the post to show the second one correctly

yeah, thats one way to do it.

i just prefer to wire mine into the shock towers, as its cleaner and easier

good luck.

so the eg ive been working on doesnt have a map sensor, i picked one up from a junkyard and the wires that go to the plug for the map are the same colors as the the ones that the diagram posted up on here says to wire them to, should they be different colors or should i wire them right to the same color wires?

Wire it up properly. Run the MAP wiring to the PS show tower clips, use pins from a donor clip to run it through the clips and reloom the harness. Thats just IMO because I'm OCD about wiring.

well obviously wire it up right but should the wires just be like 3 loose wires or do i need to cut them off of another clip, and my question wasnt really answered since my map sensor side wires are the 3 colors that the diagram up top says to wire them to do i just snip those wires and wire it in??

You will need a wiring clip for the MAP sensor as you already said you have. Then use pigtail pins from the engine side of the shock tower clips. Just a few inches of wire and the pin. Solder these to some wire of the same gauge (buy a roll) and run the proper length to the clip for the MAP sensor. When you cut the wire off the roll leave a little extra, run the three wires from the shock tower to behind the intake manifold where the MAP wires usuall exit the main engine harness. Reloom the harness to there, then solder and heat shrink the MAP clip on. Reloom that section and you are done.

Its good to have the same colors as the scematic; makes it easier for possible electrical troubleshooting; but isn't required especially if you are a wiring guru.
