JDM EG6 with CRVTEC - opinions? :)
My friend asked me to put his car up here for opinions - he can't speak english, but he just wanted to know if there was anything here you guys can think of to improve his ride in looks and power (he doesn't like SC/Turbo/NOS or any other kind of FI - wants it to be 100% NA)
EG6 with JDM SiR interior, JDM ITR Recaro black w/red stitching seat, Recaro SPG bucketseats, Safety21 roll cage, stripped interior, Carbon Fiber hood, Mugen RNRs, A'PEXi S-AFC, Dennyrom ECU, 5Zigen Fireball exhaust, 2.5" straight exhaust piping, CRVTEC engine (B20B block/B16A head, internals are all STOCK), MSD 6A ignition, OHLINS dampers & springs (fully
adjustable) etc etc etc..
it jumped on the dyno and made 172HP at the wheels.. he's thinking of installing CTR cams, but doesn't think the money is worth it for just a lil' bit more power..

that thing is ******* ill. It looks like he has most areas covered. i love the seats, rims, and cage. If he really wants more power. id say go turbo on that beast.. im a NA guy myself. but it looks like he has money and he could benifit from a turbo.

umm.....i got a question for the exhuast, so it's just a 2.5 piping from the header with no cat(test pipe)? and then just angel the 5 zigen muffler to reach to the middle? so it doesn't even follow the existing space for the exhuast? i would like to have this set up as well....just wonder how it perform
thanks in advance

This may seem like a dumb question but what is the vent looking think attached to the intake?is it a different kind of filter?anyways its a sweet car.ithe only thing i could think of would be to lower the car a bit.

The intake piece looks like the one Zspeed made a couple of years back. It's a beautiful stainless aluminum unit that replaces the lower half of the factory intake box including removal of the resonator.

i have a very similiar setup, but made by RSR (Exmag GTII), also straight through under a gas tank...let you know, you can check it out one day....

That is a very nice car, I love the wheels. Maybe a litle bit of a drop would complete it, but besides that ... It is EXTREMELY nice!

I like it very much... I don't think it really needs that much lowering. Besides, it seems that this car is all about performance, not just looks. Lowering too much seems to make handling worse. I'm sure he could have lowered it more with the Ohlins if he wanted to.
BTW, a set of high compression pistons would put that engine near 200whp! hehehe... Very similar to what I will be doing.

His car looks wicked! Nothing much too add except for a few power goodies...since he's got a CR-VTEC, he should add some high compression pistons, balance the bottom end, some more aggressive cams (CTR/ITR, Toda, Jun, Spoon) w/ appropriate valve train, larger 2.5" collector header like Spoon, Mugen ITR, Toda, Jun (to match his 2.5" exhaust), and maybe some mild headwork. He'll put down well over 200whp with that!!

You JDM junkies should be able to identify that this is an authentic ARC air box.. he's tried all the cone filters, but he told me that nothing beats this setup.. less restricting, and more air can get in and flow freely.. the filter on the top is a K&N drop-in filter element.

Looks pretty clean. Why doesn't he want to go on the bottle?? Nitrous is awesome, and would look, great in the car. I think a turbo would also be perfect for that car.

i think lowering it a little would make it have a mean stance. I do like the seats, who wouldn't? IMO, I would take some of those decals off, that would enhance the sleeper look. I think I just heard that engine yell "TURBO!!" Could be my eyes messing with me.

That is just how I want mine to look like. I absolutely love the corner lamps!!! Very dope. If you can get those and send them to me, I will pay MONEY!! I have never seen them in the states. Exhaust is cool. I dont know which seat I would rather have but I likes both. Good choice for n/a engine. All around very very tiite lookin Also whats the piece inbetween the sunvisors. USDM cars dont have that, is it a maplight? Mirrors are dope too, are they spoons to match the wheels?? Overall, I wish I didnt live in the states when I see cars like this.

Ohlins suspension products are supposed to be THE TOP OF THE LINE. I'm just curious what do yhe dampners and springs he has on his car run in US dollars. By the way I wouldn't change a thing. Probably he should use a small shot of nitrous, that engine can take it.

Re: JDM EG6 with CRVTEC - opinions? :) (nathan's boosted civic)
I'm new to the B20B conversion. I am thinking about doing it but I would like to learn a little more about it. How hard it is to put that motor in my Si? What kind of header can you put on the B20B motor? I am sure it does but does the ITR tranny bolt right up? What kind of tranny is used on the hatch above? Also, if I were to put that motor in my car, can I use a B18C head or just the B16A head. What kind of axles do or would I have to use to support the torque?
