JDM EG Bumper Pole?

It's mounted on the corner of your bumper opposite of the driver's side. You push a button, it extends and keeps you from hitting other cars while parking. Used in Japan because of the small parking spaces and lack of room.

Off topic but if japan is so small and crowded why are their cars so much better than ours performance wise? Our smog cant be THAT much stricter than theirs.
