JDM D15B vs. USDM D15B rod
I have read that the rods in the JDM D15B and USDM D15B7 are the same except for the rod journals on the crank are 45mm instead of the 42(ish) USDM crank journals... Can anybody clarify this? I have a spare D15 B7 and I am playing with the possibility of using a JDM D15B crank to be able to use aftermarket rods in this. Also does anybody know the overall lengths of the two rods JDM D15B and USDM D15B7.
Your Help is greatly appreciated.
THANKS!

Re: JDM D15B vs. USDM D15B rod (EG_Warped)
Won't work without custom pistons or the stock D15B pistons. The D15B uses a standard PM6 D16 rod, and the B7 uses a PM3 rod. The PM6 rod is 3mm longer. You would need PM3 style pistons with a 3mm shorter compression height.
PM3 rod =134mm iirc
PM6 rod = 137mm iirc
PM3 rod =134mm iirc
PM6 rod = 137mm iirc

Re: JDM D15B vs. USDM D15B rod (Jim Truett)
Thank you for that. Do you know of any company that makes a forged or reinforced rod for the D15B7? I have a spare one and I am wanting to build it for boost...
