Default JDM D15b V-tec Swap in EG

Hey, this week im going to buy the JDM D15b vtec engine from Sac. I am going to swap it into my 1992 Honda Civic DX. I was wondering what should i look after and what i need? Plus im going to change the timing belt and waterpump on the JDM engine. Does anyone know what i should use for that? I know i need to use two wires to connect the vtec wire to the shock tower. Correct me if im wrong. I am going to swap the head also. I bought a USDM D16z6 Bullfrog head.

and i have the ECU also.

I already got ARP headstuds for the head swap and bought a brand new ACT heavy duty pressure plat with street clutch and 8pound flywheel. Im also getting a DC 4-2-1 header and Hondata S200 for it.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR SWAP? PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME INFO OR KNOWLEDGE YOU KNOW OF THE SWAP.

Why did you buy a d15b and swap in the d16 head? I like the direction you are going with the s200 but isn't it kind of excessive of an NA d15b...or are you planing for boost later?

The swap it pretty simple i have seen. It pretty much plug and play except you have to wire it for vtec. It is a pretty easy swap. If this is your first time, one helpful tip is to lable everything with a marker and tape before you disconnect the electrical system. I know for a fact that the tps and the map sensor look identical. Just use your common sensor.

nah this this isnt my first swap. I have done a B18c1 swap into a EG. I done a H22a into a EK. And this is the second time im doing a swap in my EG, but I swapped the same engine. Thanks for tip for the sensor i ran into that problem the first time i did the swap on my EG.
Well, after the swap i am going to slap a wet nitrous kit on it. The cams in the head is mild, so it would be good for nitrous.

well the only one that was major was the JDM H22a into a EK. That **** was a bitch, took forever to get most of the wires right.

nope im using the ECU that came with the head, P28. Why would i need a new dizzy when im going to use a totally different head? Remember the head is a USDM D16z6, it already has a dizzy. Actually i have two dizzys for it.

So I run two wires to the shock tower harness for the Vtec, right?

You will have problems with that clutch, get rid of it and get an RPS clutch, it will handle all your power and won't break after 6 months, It happened to me twice, after the first time I thought it was just a bad clutch, but then it happened again, the RPS has been in for over a year with no problems. Besides, if there was no RPS, than ACT wouldn't be around.

hmmm i wonder which one is which. The guy in the link said "So, the upper Green/yellow wire is the VTEC spool solenoid, and the lower Blue/black is the pressure switch"

But the picture i have it shows that it is the white/orange and Orange/blue.

so you have a z6 head, plus you want to get an entire d15b? im planning the same thing, so i have a spare head i can work out while driving around. im liking your set-up.

so you want to know what youll need for the swap, if youve done a h22 and b18, this swap for you will be a no brainer. pretty straight foward, everything can be reused its just a matter of unbolting the motor and putting in the d15b in its place. for vtec wiring, its a total of 3wires is your eg isnt alrealdy wired for it. i think the pins in the ECU are B4 and A6. use speakerwire and connect them to the solenoid and oil pressure sensor or some sort. i forget. the last wire is for a ground.

Yes, i have a z6 head and going to get entire JDM D15b vtec engine. Ya i know its a piece of cake.I just hate running back and forth to the store for something. I like to have everything right there and then so I can do it all in one day. And someone might have some good ideas i might use.

Well, its official. I'm going down to Sac to pick up my engine and do the swap this weekend. I was wondering, should i get the headgasket, timing belt, and waterpump from a VX engine or a Si engine?

Ya RPS is a really good clutch, my friend has it in his B18c1. I bought the ACT because it came with the flywheel package for a good price. I heard that ACT is pretty good.

bump, does anyone know if that the spark plugs and wires are interchangable with the non-vtec and the vtec Dseries?

mayn, i LOVED my d15b... both of them actually

now let me see what i remember...

103teeth on your d15b timing belt, 103teeth for the 92-95vx. get that. folks are gonna talk about getting the ex belt and **** like that. make it simple and get the vx belt, and count off the teeth.

spark plug wires are somewhat interchangeable, but the d15b7/d15b8/d16z6 ones didn't work for my d15b (odd, yes i know).... i used the d16y7 ones

you're better off buying them and tryin' it out, sorrie...

spark plugs i got off a d16z6...

water pump gave me **** too, i think the shop i got stuff didn't know what from what....

"d16z6" on top... d15b on bottom, positive!! notice the difference in mounting points....

"d16z6" on top... d15b on bottom, positive!!

d15b, positive!

i hope i helped ..... by the way my **** ripppppped!! high 14, dont have a timeslip dont ask....

have fun

Nice buy, engine looks real clean.

I'll just reiterate what jdmsir20 said,
it's all correct.

also you can use a d16z6 dizzy just fine( thats what i'm using) and a vx waterpump/ timing belt(103teeth) will work fine too,
put those on mine as well
i'm using z6 plugs 1step colder denso

haha i saw ur post after i got all the stuff. I bought the D15b vx waterpump and that fits, I bought the D16z6 timing belt and that doesnt fit, but the one that came with the JDM D15b Fits really good and the belt looks good, no cracks or tears on it. I also bought D16z6 sparkplugs but i havnt bought the spark plugs wires yet. I hope the D16z6 sparkplug wires will work. Oh and my USDM D16z6 didnt come with a dizzy so im using the one that came off the JDM D15b. U guys think it will work?

would you mind tellin how much you paid for the gude head?? if its any more then 1-200 dollars you got ripped, those heads suck and so dont the gude ecu's

also i believe the hondata is a lil overkill for your setup, save yourself some money on that one, unless you plan on boosting or running nitrous
