JDM Broadway mirror

I don't know if anyone else has this problem on there honda or not but my stock mirror is kinda loose at the ball joint. It's not to loose where it just falls but if i have a song on with a lot of bass in it then it moves down slowly. I just bought a Broadway mirror that goes over the stock one and now whenever theres a little bass if moves alot. if anyone has had anything like this as a problem what did you do and what can i do?

Almost 400 views no replies. Yes take off the broadway or remove the bass.

there's a fix for it... but i'd recomend getting a back up rear view mirror... i had mine fixed so it wouldn't budge even with the jl w6 blasting... but i got tired of the look and went back to stock

I have a 250mm mirror and it gets crooked down when the bass is on. Then I put on the mirror at an angle. Leaving the 'left' clip not being attacthed to anything. This helped a bit.

back up as in incase you screw up the first one hehe... if you disassemble your mirror you can see the mirror is kept in place by pressure from a plate onto a ball joint... i tried tightening the plate and that only helped for a little bit, then i went more extreme and modified the ball and plate to sorta lock into positions. of coarse good luck when someone else has to adjust your mirror to drive... but then again i dont' let anyone else drive my car...

you can either get a newer replacement or...you can take the mirror apart. Then you take a surgical glove, the real thin latex ones, and cut off a fingertip. You take that piece and slip it over the ball joint, then you tighten everything back together. It gives it the needed hold.

It worked on my car, then I got a mirror out of a gsr for free, popped that in(the entire mirror assembly) and it was tight as hell.

yup, did the exact same thing, didn't even have to take the mirror off, just pried off the cover with a screw driver, loosened the plate that puts pressure against the ball joint, put a little square of medical tape (couldn't find a latex glove) over the ball joint, tightened it up, and it worked like a charm - three weeks since, and it hasn't budged....no more laughing at the mirror as it goes down with each BOOM BOOM BOOM
