JDM b16swap + JDM b20 longblock = ..........
Ok, this is my plan for my swap. I am ordering a JDM b16 (2nd gen) swap. I am also going to order a b20 long block. Between these 2 purchases will I have all the major parts (- the oil fittings and lines) that I need for a b20vtec?
I know there are some parts that should of course be replaced, ie water pump, oil pump, timing belt, all that stuff but as far as basic motor parts, I should have everything, correct?
Next question, if I am just running that basic setup + GoldenEagle sleeves, with the b20 JDM pistons, can I use the b16 ECU? Will it run at all? I know I've heard of quite a few people running chipped p28s or Hondata, but I just need something right now to get my car running. What is everyone's suggestion for this? Thanks tons.......... btw - I am telling all my friends that I am getting a b16 swap cleverly leaving out the part about the b20 bottom end.

why are you sleeving and still using stock pistons???
do a bsic tune up before installing its always good practice.
as far as B16A it will all depend on the type of electronics you have and chassis. for OBDi use JDM p30 or OBDI PR3 or chipped P28/P08 all will work with the setup. the stock b16a programs will run lean.

I'm running it in an OBDI equipped car. Also, i was thinking about the resleeving, and have decided against it. I may resleeve it at a later time, when I decide to go to an aftermarket crank/pistons/rods etc....

don't forget to swap out the oil pump and water pump to vtec units.
lets not forget the corresponding timing belt. the oil line kits shouldn't
cost ya more than a 100.

Yea, I have done a little research about the conversion, and I was going to use the b16 oil/water pump and timing belt.

Yea dude, most people say "if done right" they refer to the dowel pins being done right and good quality oil lines. I've heard that extremely high revs aren't good for that setup unless you have the entire rotating asymbly balanced, but that holds true for just about any motor.
