I have a jdm b16a from a 99 2000 civic that im putting in my 96 2door coupe special edition the wire harness i have that came with the motor is from japan so it opiste side i was wondering what other harnesses i can use b/c i dont want to run any wires from my old car harness to make it vtec and will i still be able to use the ecu that they gave me with the stuff for the swap

Somebody correct me if im wrong, but you can use any wiring that had vtec, whether a civic or integra. For example D16z6 or D16y8 or 1 from a teg GSR, ITR. Why not just use the one you have. It saves you money and you'd just have to wire Vtec in to the ECU?

if you don't want to rewire, then you need to get the 96 civic ex 5spd harness. the ek's use a 1pc design harness while the integra and eg use a 2 piece design. honestly i'd just rewire the original harness, i've done it plenty of times. and if i'm not mistaken, the jdm honda's don't have a vtec pressure switch so you'll need to buy one of those as well or vtec won't work. if u want to get rid of your old harness lemme kno, i can even repin it for you for the right price. my work looks oem

thats would be ok ib/c i dont know how to do it the rewiring an you said id have to buy a switch ?how much would you charge me to rewire my stock harness ?? an would my ecu that came with the motor work. or do you know where i can get directions on doing this ?
