JDM B16A smoking while idling and driving
Like the title says I have a b16a and it smokes quite a bit while idling. It's blackish smoke, and when you give it gas it turns whitish and a lot more smoke comes out. Once you get it up and driving the smoking isn't really apparent. I has it in the shop and I was told that it could be cylinder wall scarring, something with the valves, or something with the piston rings. It could also be the fact that the car was originally only running on 2 cylinders for a while and it's sat for about 2 years on and off running trying to get progress done. So it also may just need to burn some oil out of the engine and exhaust. What do you guys think is likely the problem? Thanks for the replies.

Do you know what compression should be at? There are no leaks from what the mechanic told me. It was in the shop just a few days ago to try and fix some other problems. I guess I can try checking compression.
