JDM b16a lsd problem?
Hello ht!
First: The car is a 94 eg civic coupe w/ a jdm b16a motor w/ type r b16 transmission with factory lsd & a stage 5 clutch! Car is lowered with kyb gr-2 struts and skunk2 springs. Has front and back skunk2 camber kits, off brand 'H' brace and lca's.
Im having some problems with a new eg coupe i just bought. This simply started with excessive wheel hopping during take off, which i attributed to the clutch. The problem worsened when on my way home one day the steering wheel suddenly pulled randomly & hard to the left. I pulled over onto the median and checked my suspension & steering to find everything okay. A week or so later as result of this, i replaced my brakes, bought new pads and drilled/slotted rotors off ebay.
After the install the problem seemed to have gone away, but then all of a sudden it came back again, pulled hard to the left at a certain cycle of the tired rotation. So just to be safe i replaced the tie rods (inner and outter) and the problem is now at its worse. The pull which at one point was somewhat gentle and specific to when i was not applying any throttle is now going on at all times. The pull is very hard, and barely controlable
So now at this point i've narrowed it down( or at least thought it have ;p) to the transmission. Could this problem be cause by the lsd in the tranny, the axels themselves, or the half shaft? Im not sure what else it could be!
Any responses are greatly appreciated as i at this point have no ride to work!
Thanks,
Jack
