JDM B16 A2 won'start
Sup all. I got a problem. I just finished the majority of a B16 swap in my 93 EX Coupe but it won't start. I have a solid connection between the strater and the clip. The motor doesn't even turn over at all when I try to start it. We can get it to run by jumping the starter but it will not turn over any other way. Any help would be great.

Make sure that all your grounds are in the correct locations and that you have a good ground..what I mean by this is scrape the paint off of anything that would be in or around the place you are going to ground it. I have had this same problem a few times. Easy to fix but can cause some headaches while trying to find the problem.

I will have to double check that all mu\y grounds are clean. I know they are all conected. Would this cause the starter motor to not even turn? I noticed my friend putted the crimped side in on the + to the starter, I will clean my grounds, change the + and go from there. Also, I can just weld extensions in the shift linkages correct? I'll be back

Well, I wire brushed all my grounds, flipped the starter+ to be correct and still nothing. Does anyone have any other ideas? This motor is JDM so the starter + wair was quite long (long enough to have the battery on th right side, JDM) I don't think the extra wire would have too high of a resistance, I didn't want to chop it down when I did the wiring. I hate ****** with big wires. Well the sooner I get this done the sooner I can see my fam in Chicago forChristmas. Thank you all for your help. And happy holidays

Re: JDM B16 A2 won'start (HondaFanatic414)
Just an update:
There are two fatty (10ga) wires. One blk/wht that goes to the - on the starter and then to the harness on the driver side of the bay. Connection check and it is ok. The second fatty wire in the same harness goes to the dist. Connection OK. I am about to check my ignition switch and the connections in there to these locations. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: JDM B16 A2 won'start (HondaFanatic414)
When I got ready to start it up (much earlier) we noticed the dist was gutted, ****** bastards. So I called my parts dept (I work at Wilde Honda) and they told me the internals were all the same but the housing was different. So we had to rebuild the B series Dist to have the D series internals, could this be a problem? Sorry for asking stupid questions, but the problem sould be anywhere. If **** can go wrong, it will go wrong. LOL but

i had this problem in my teg and it was the battery ground. im almost certain its a ground somewhere. if not, see if the starter is bad. did you do an auto to 5 speed swap? i now how u feel, i cant get my b16a to start in my civic either.....
oops i saw u said u got it started with a jumper so its not your starter....im almost certain its your battery ground then. definately something between the starter and the battery. what about the little wire on the starter?

Re: JDM B16 A2 won'start (rewsnaeht)
well I check my 10ga blk/yel wire from my dist. to the ignition, everything is fine there. The blk/wht wire I spoke of on the starter is a 10ga as well, this connection is solid from the starter to the harness near the driver side firewall. I have to wait for someone to get here to check the voltage and current at the starter in the start position. I took off every ground, the batter to shock tower, trans to bay, valve cover ground, thermostat ground. Am I missing one? I could have swore I checked the Honda Tech Manual for all the ground points, but the manual is only for single cam. I took a wire brush and cleaned up not only the wire eyelets but also the connection to the car, this **** is frustrating. Again thank you for the help and merry christmas

You should have one running from your tranny to the side of the frame of your car. That iis one of the main ones not sure if you listed it or not but without this one your car will not do ANYTHING.

Not sure if I listed it as well, butthis connection was also cleaned. I think it might be a starter cut relay, that sound true?
