JDM 96 ITR 114.3 x 4 with 92-95 prelude VTEC calipers?
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=963514
So i searched and havent found the answer. My rotors are pretty warped. When i brake, my steering wheel shakes violently. I have the 96 JDM ITR brakes and it's very hard to find replacement parts such as rotors. Since I'm going to be chaning it, im thinking of doing the 92-96 prelude vtec caliper upgrade since the rotor is bigger. What are the things i need?
- 92-96 prelude VTEC caliper
- 92-96 prelude VTEC rotor
....do i need spacers?
Will this clear the stock 15 inch ITR rim with or without spacers?
Anyone got pictures of what to shave off?
TIA
I asked a question in this thread and he responded with
"I used a 95 Prelude VTEC rotor, which is an 11in rotor(the same size as 5-lug ITR). Our rotors are 10.2, so you see the improvement already. If you use this rotor, you will need to use the corresponding caliper...i.e 5 lug Type-R, 94-01 Prelude VTEC, 98-00 Accord V6...all the same. The rotor will bolt directly onto the hub, but the caliper will need a slight bit of shaving to fit properly over the rotor. You will know what parts to shave while fitting the caliper mounting bracket over the rotor. Since I am using the stock 96spec wheels, there would be some caliper-to-wheel clearance issues, therefore making it necessary to install a 5mm wheel spacer and extended wheel studs(since the oem wheel studs are too short with the use of a spacer). If you have aftermarket wheels, you might be able to get away with it, depending on the offset. You will have to test fit to find out. I'm sure just about any 16in wheel will work fine, but it's the 15in. wheels that will most likely need the spacers. Hopefully i've shed some light on the subject for you. If you would, please spread the word about my car being for sale. It's time for a new owner to have the fun now.

Re: JDM 96 ITR 114.3 x 4 with 92-95 prelude VTEC calipers? (black cx)
when i upgraded to the 11" prelude fronts, i used the complete caliper assembly. (caliper, pads, bracket, rotor) .. I did have to space the bracket out a bit. I just used a washer. I did not have to shave anything. It cleared in my CP-F's without any problem

- you do not need to shave anything
- I used 4 washers from the large subframe bolts. 2 per caliper bracket

the middle diameter has to be big enough to accomidate the bolts for the caliper brackets, and for thickness just play around with it. I had regular HomeDepot washers double stacked and it was fine, then i swapped over to the subframe bolts because they look likke better metal

Re: (black cx)
I use bb4 front brakes on my 4x114.3 equipped eg6, complete with 96 spec factory wheels.
You need a 2mm washer on the inside of the caliper bracket, and if you don't like the idea of running spacers, you can always grind a little bit off the caliper. I did this 15,000kms ago, and still going strong. Its a tight squeeze, but hey, at least it doesn't look empty inside the wheel
