Default JB WELD hold a shifter stabilizer together?

well amongst finishing my swap somehow we broke the part of the **** stabilizer that protrudes from the car. (if you arent familiar with what i mean its part of the shift linkage, not the actual linkage, but where the round bushing goes around. a chunk that is about half of that piece of metal that the bolt goes into just broke off and i'm wondering if you all think jb weld would hold it. i'm driving it right now just broken and hte bushing and washer are holding it together fine. think i'd be alright? this isnt something i can just try and then if it doesnt work, have it welded because once jb weld is put on there, a real weld cant bond to the metal right and its not worth a damn. so basically if i try and it doesnt work.....i get to buy a new half tranny casing. thanks for the help. and please dont just guess, only post if u actually know ur stuff

I think mine was broken off as well, and was put back on before I got it. It think it was welded back on and red silicone was used to make sure it didn't leak. Well I thought it looked like ****, so I scraped all the red silicone off and of course my tranny started leaking from there. Well, I got some jb stick, and I put it on and no more leak. Sanded down and it looks much better now. I would try jb stick to put it back on cause it sets much quicker than jb weld.

i think welding would be better than tearing the tranny apart
