Default Jackalope93eg build thread

So i wanted to start a sort of build thread to document my civic. I have always liked civics and just recently acquired this 1993 civic lx sedan in a trade. It has had the motor replaced with a D16Y7 and runs and shifts (5-spd) really well. Its from California so i haven't been able to find any rust as of yet. It currently shows 161k. And it also has new tires, radiator, alternator...and i think thats all the PO said that i remember.

I plan on keeping it mostly stock but slowly repainting it panel by panel and fixing the dents and replacing the damaged fender.

I've had a D16Y7 before but it had a different intake, the throttle body was mounted vertically instead of horizontally like this one.

So i'm going to start a list of things i'd like to do with it and slowly work on it.

-Oil Change
-Bath
-Vacuum/shampoo interior
-Clean all interior glass and hard surfaces
-Fix Glove Box door - no handle to open it
-Check/adjust Cruise Control switches on clutch & brake pedals
-Replace bad blower motor resistor (only works on 3 & 4)
-Rear Brakes make a little noise - check/replace
-Buy New Right fender
-Get new Right inner fender liner
-Paint Supplies
-Buy new front side marker lights so that they match...

Here are some pics....

PO replaced this fender...

This fender is beyond repair, Rock Auto has them for less than 40 a piece.

I look forward to having a good running and looking fuel efficient vehicle.

Thanks Norlael for the link! but since mine is manual i'd go for item #1 shown here.

Honda Automotive Parts

00mustanggt - Not sure on the color for it yet...was thinking a darker silver or "gun metal" gray, then later adding some bronze/gold colored wheels...

So i got a little done on the car this weekend...no pics but i can check some things off the list

X-Oil Change, also changed the MT fluid. the PO had just changed the fluid and while it was clean coming out it was thick and shifting into 1st wasn't as smooth as it is now after the change. He said he put 30 weight oil in it...thus me changing it to what i prefer to have in it.
X-Bath, Cleaned windows and RainX'd them
X-Vacuum/shampoo interior
X-Clean all interior glass and hard surfaces
-Fix Glove Box door - no handle to open it
X-Check/adjust Cruise Control switches on clutch & brake pedals(was missing rubber bumper so there was no contact between the switch and pedal)
-Replace bad blower motor resistor (only works on 3 & 4)
-Rear Brakes make a little noise - check/replace
-Buy New Right fender might buy both since noticing a few dings in the Driver fender aswell
-Get new Right inner fender liner
-Paint Supplies
-Buy new front side marker lights so that they match...

The best part of this car....is the fuel mileage. i put 308 miles on it this last week and topped the tank of this weekend with 7.74 gallons...which gave me about 39.8mpg and i wasn't really driving like i was trying to save gas and also it was a 75/25 mix of highway and city driving. 7.74 gallons @ 2.84/gallon = 22 bucks to fill up the tank...so that's awesome! I used to really struggle to get better than 35 in my 98... but that had a cold air intake, full exhaust with a 4-2-1 header which i felt hurt the bottom end power/torque that helps fuel mileage. I'm going to try driving this next tank as grandma like as i can and see what kind of number i can get.
