Jack Recommendations
Well I left my stock jack and spare outside for a night since I was moving...and someone decided to steal em.
And it so happens that a couple days later...my tire is losing air so I'm going to put my old wheels/tires on.
Anyways, would you guys happen to know if there are comparable jacks (in size) to the stocker at places like pep boys or kragen? Perhaps even easier to use?
TIA,
Rod

you don't want a botle jack.
Get a ful size floor jack...like a 3 ton with jack stands.
I got mine from Costco and I LOVE it. Has a quick pump foot lever also

Re: Jack Recommendations (BagelW)
that jack is called bottle jack, they didnt fit under my car without the aid of a 2x4(drive on it), but it'll do no good for a flat
the stock sccissor jack is probably they best for size/weight.... they have them at kragens, etc... for about 20 bucks....

Yea, my old roommate used to have one which was great...but now that I live in an apartment on the third floor....can't really store one around here...need something in the car. Actually I had a "mini" floor jack but that was also stolen at night.
I'll go to a local auto store and get a scissor jack.
Thanks guys.

Right, but I think he's trying to replace his emergency jack. I think a 3 ton floor jack is a tad overkill for his application.
And no you DO NOT want a bottle jack for you emergency jack. They only raise the car approx. 6 inches...so when you have flat you're SOL. You will only wind up hucking it into a field out of frustration. Get a scissors jack.

For the garage go with the craftsman three ton floor jack! But for the road, use the scissor jack. Its small, lightweight, takes up no space. Only bad thing is jacking up the car with it. Just sort of a pain cranking it.
