Default J32A2 Swap for the EJ1 *Hood Clearance & Weight Help*

I want to do a DD 95 civic ej1 / Weekend car with that build of motor. i want to know if it'll be hard to find a aftermarket hood that'll clear the fact it is a v6. and if it'll throw off the weight by A LOT on the turns. compared to a h22a. I am doing the whole extra for the J32A mostly because i do not want to do over-mods to make my car sound illegal. i want a stock-ish j32a in a stockish looking civic daily that has some go for track days.

anything that fits. i can care less if it looks like a wanna be v8. i do not want to spend a 60k on a civic because the b18c5 and the k20a doesn't cut it being stock. or i might just go boost d15. i need long *** gears if i am going 5 spd. i need 50k in order to get a good k20... k24 sounds like a touring car engine. i just want the j32.

Hasport v2 mount kit is supposed to allow for the hood to close without cutting a hole in the hood. The proble with it though is the extreme angles of the axles and the ground clearance for the oil pan leaves a lot to be desired!

Cowl hood.

First, do some more research. Don't know where you're getting half these wild ideas from? Long gears for a turbo? Psssh. 60k to swap in a K? K engines don't "cut it"? YOu want a stock engine BUT you'll boost a D-series? Contradictory. Sounds like you aren't well versed in any swaps.

i got a b18 swap in my ej1 and im tired of it. and it is horrid on the freeway. i got 3 jobs. i need a car that moves like a stock integra dc5 without it sounding race-ish. im at 6000 on the freeway. i hate the b18... i did minor upgrades and now it just rushes through gears. i have a friend who has the k20. he says the money it takes to have an equivilant of a b18 fully built is a basic k20 na setup. i don't want basic. i want upgrades on a 6 spd. only. i want iVtec cam profiles for saving gas as well as the 6 speed to save more and also just faster gears if i want go.

The j32 engine is a fun engine in the ej1 chassis. The weight really doesn't effect the car too much. I can hang corners just like my buddies with their b/k series cars. Personally I wouldn't daily drive the car as it is just not practical. well the only reason it isn't practical is the engine sits too low when you use the version2 hasport mounts. gorund clearance would be your biggest problem. If you put the version2 mounts in the lowest position, it puts the oil pan 4 inches below the sub frame. As far as it being a fun car, they are as fun as they come. Here is a pic of mine.

you need to step back and research. plenty of b series setups getting 30+mpg. hell, i make 480whp and i got 32mpg last tank. it would be even higher if my cams didn't have such aggressive primary lobes.

how are you at 6000 on the freeway? with a type r transmission with 4.785 final drive that would be over 100mph.

lol dude i drive 65-70 and it is 45-5500. my d15 was at a nice and low rpm. that is how i can compare it and is why i don't like this ****. i went back to my other car which is toyota and stopped driving it ever since. i only have the ls with dc headers, gsr trans, stage 1 clutch and a w/e aftermarket intake. is that too much for a dd? wtf?

Once again...you dont know what your talking about AND are exaggerating

You say you have a gsr trans....you say that you drive 65-70 and the revs are between 4500-5500??? 1000 rpm in 5th gear is a huge difference....

Anywho, gsr trans @ 4500rpm IS 87mph...gsr trans @ 5500rpm IS 107mph.

Lets just say in the middle of what he is claiming...5k rpm @ 70mph with a gsr trans, he would have to be rolling on 145/55/10

He must be running a 8'' wheel some how.

Op is trying to find a excuse to go j-swap so bad that he is fabricating exaggerations about B and K series engines.

You need to take you foot of the gas some if your "zipping through the gears"!!! You don't have to try to get to 80 between stop lights! I love my GSR motor, if I didn't buy this car strictly to learn about FI, then I could leave this gsr in stock form and would be completely content. My GSR swapped civic is more fun than my G35!!!

Exactly, my gsr at 80 is right at 4000 rpm's if not a hair under!!!

For somebody that doesn't know anything about anything you sure do bitch a lot. Stick to automatics kid.

I have a 5.0FD in my k20. You'd have a stroke trying to drive it with the amount of shifting I do.

*hint....
he's not gonna know what that means bro

Last month he said he was going b18c5 w/ a b16 trans...cant even handle driving a gsr trans...now needs to go to a d-series. He would even driving around a b16 trans.

Do you know what a 4.7 in a 5 speed would sound like? Do you realize the gsr tranny youre bitching about already has a 4.4 and a 4.7 is shorter? Stop trying to come off as educated.

Why in the all thats holy are you looking for a 4.7FD...you cant even handle a gsr w/ 4.4FD w/out bitching and moaning about it.

Sorry to break it to you boss, but if you are at all capable of driving like a normal human being, there is no reason it would sound like your "hitting" vtec EVERYWHERE you go.

Your posts are so contradictory and all over the place it hurts ze brain...
