J cloth instead of air filter?????
Today i was working on my car and my friend who is much older and more experienced didnt like the way may spectre filter sat on my sri He recommended i use j cloth instead. I decided why not he is very knowledgeable about cars, not really hondas but still. After looking it up later i found it is a cleaning material used to scrub things with. So anyway has anyone heard of this? Seems like it does the trick.

Btw, I bought an ebay sri (metal pipe only) and a spectre filter and the fitment was horrible. I bought a bunch of diff rubber seal things and i could not get it to fit tight. Neither good my buddies, this isnt hard stuff its just crap product.
The reason i did this was because last night i came home to find my filter chillin and thats not cool lol

Ya thats kinda why im asking. It seems to work good now but idk how it will hold up over time. Im hoping someone will chime in with experience on this.
I know its not very believable, but a good friend of mine, I would say a mentor on cars (knows his **** but we have diff mindsets since hes into big blocks and id prefer a sohct) told me he used to use it on stock cars back in the day.

Re: J cloth instead of air filter?????
Borrow measuring tape from someone (or go buy a ruler - they cost 99 cents at WalMart) and figure out the O.D. (outer diameter) of your SRI/CAI piping. Buy a proper sized filter from K&N. Don't run the risk of some cheap ghetto fix getting sucked in and blowing your motor.

Re: J cloth instead of air filter?????
You can get a 2.5" inlet K&N generic filter straight from the company for $32. I'd bet you could get them cheaper by shopping around, and it'll outlast your car. If you're working on a car, you should be able to scrounge up thirty bucks for a quality air filter that you'll never need to replace again. If you can't scrounge up thirty bucks that you'll never have to spend again, you might want to start looking into other hobbies.

And what VSS's would work with my car, i was thinking all d and b 88-01??
