i've got some bearing questions?
i've got a 94 civic ex with d16z6 vtec okay heres the situation, the guy i got my car from dropped the drain plug lost all oil, and melted the bearings to the crank he had the machine shop turn it down as little as possible which ended up being turned down .040 thousanths, the cars probly had about 60,000 miles put on it since then and i need to change the rings, i found new .040 rod bearings at summit racing but they dont list .040 main bearings. not pulling the motor just planning on changing rings and rod bearings. when he had the crank turned down the machine shop he had do it ended up getting the main and rod bearings from australia and it took 6 months to get them. does anybody know if i can reuse the main bearings if thier not to worn? if not does anyone know where i can get .040 main bearings?

Re: i've got some bearing questions?
yeah thier all .040, kinda odd to have it turned down to an unuasal size like that but i dont think the kid knew what he was doing, he should have went .050 would have been alot easier. and i'm having trouble finding a machine shop thats close by so hopefully thier not too bad and i can reuse them. thanks for your reply
