I've been having trouble with my Honda. Revving in Park.
The car in question is a 95 Honda Civic Coupe 1.6L Automatic. It has 140,000 Miles on the Chasis and 75,000 on the Engine. Once in the Winter when in park it would rev itself from 1-2.5K for awhile but went away when it warmed up. Well a couple days ago I replaced the Radiator since it had a leak, drove the car, everything was fine. A day later it does it again (revving on it's own) but goes away. Today it's doing it again, I did research and the claimed source was the IACV so I cleaned it out with a DIY on the Honda forums. It kind of helped for a few minutes but it went back to revving itself up. Found a vacuum hose kinked thinking it was that, fixed it, nothing. So I come seeking answers here, what is causing this thing to constantly rev when it park? I'll probably bring it to the shop at the end of the week but would rather see if it's a simple fix. Thanks

The FIT cleaning fixed that issue but now I'm having an overheating issue. Installed a new Radiator so that's not the issue, I do have a slight slight coolant leak from one of the hoses but that isn't it either, it seems the fan isn't turning on, any help? I checked the relay, the fuse, and I will be testing the fan in general soon.

What about your thermostat? Is it circulating the coolant? When you was messing with the FITV did you knock the ground loose or maybe removed it and forgot to put it back.

I actually fixed everything, after I did the FITV it fixed the ideal, since then it has been perfect and as mentioned I still was overheating. Turns out one of the hoses in the back had a leak coming from underneath that I couldn't see (Should of been more thorough though) so that was fixed and everything was fine for a few days until I saw some wetness on the transmission/engine. I looked at the tiny hose behind the head that connects to the air intake setup and it was leaking around the bottom but slowly. I touched the hose and it little snapped a hole into itself because it was dry rotted. Replaced that and now I'm golden!
I am looking for a AT Transmission for the car though, it's a 95 as mentioned. I thought NJ would be the easiest place to find one for a good price. Can anyone recommend any places here? Shops, Junkyards, etc?
