ITR Strut bar VS. Strut bar that bolts to shock studs?
Guys,
I have an ITR strut bar ready to go in. My Hatch even came with the holes pre-drilled, so it's a plug and play deal. As you know, these holes are on the front strut towers, but are NOT directly connected to the front shocks (from a structural standpoint).
I was wondering how much of a difference would an aftermarket strut bar that uses the shocks' studs offer.
Is it worth it to get one of those or should I just install the ITR one?
Thanks,
-Walter

^^ I have heard people say that in the past as well.
But, sence you already have it, why not use it, and find out first hand if it makes a difference?

Thanks for the insight. It's good to know from someone that has tried both.
You're a funny guy.

The difference is minimal. Strut bars stiffen by bracing the entire strut mount area/wheel well against the opposite side. In some other cars (I've not seen this in Hondas yet) you can see the effect of this type of flexing as the entire strut mount area pulls inboard, off from the fender.

There are notions that the neuspeed front strut bar is one of the only ones that behaves in a desirable manner.
They're also cheap!!!

For what it's worth, I've heard that the PWJDM 3-point bar is the best, albeit expensive.

Check out the Benen Tripod Bar. I picked one up for $80 locally, although normally a used price might be in the $120 range.

NRG makes a 3 point bar that looks very much like the PWJDM bar for about $150

this is one of those things you should REALLY consider buying used. Save a lot of money.

This is great info guys, thanks for all the options.
I'll start with the ITR bar and move onto a nice 3-point like the NRG or PJDM.
