ITR Rad into EG..what's involved?

ITR Rad into EG..what's involved?
Hey guys and gals,
I was wondering if an ITR rad will fit into an EG (well, EJ1 in my case) without any modification. Do all the hoses line up? How about the supports themselves..any custom fab necessary? Any help would be great. I assume that others have done this to their 5th gens..thanks!

it'll fit... you just have to line it up...as for fabrication, you have to cut the L bracket that is on the radiator support originally for the ac... after that, make your own brackets to hold the radiator in place(up top).
heres a tip... take a hammer and bang the two L brackets that hold the radiator down so it'll give you a bit more clearence. i'll post up picks later

Heres what i did.

Used a GSR auto rad. The manual looked like a one core, the one i got was 2 core for sure. $158 at a local shop, $45 dollars in parts and 4-5 hours to kill. High flow single fan from a custom hot rod shop for $70 buck. Fan has turned on 2 times since installation. Nice and cool. Getting a digicam next week for b-day, have pics at that time.

I had one in my last hatch..........actually GSR radiator, but same thing.
What I did was, I used the GSR hoses (I had GSR motor also) and it lined up perfectly.
As far as mounting goes, I made my own brackets. I cut the lower A/C and radiator mounts off with a zizwheel. I got 1/8" pieces of steel and screwed them into the lower support, put a gromet on them, and it fit perfectly. Kinda weird, but looked good. I did the same for the top, but I bent them slightly so they went over the radiator and held it close to the upper support. The pieces of steel I used were just laying around my shop and they already had holes in them (bought that way) that were almost the PERFECT size for the little posts on the top and bottom of the radiator.

thanks for the awesome feed back guys! so i'll have to make some custom brackets to mount the new rad from the top? those 2 brackets would be too high for the new rad from what you guys are saying rite? (the ac and the old rad support on the bottom)...are the integra hoses also larger in diameter? thanks again guys, really appreciate it

btw, very nice install toadolson
once again, what kind of hoses did you use? i'll be bolting this up to a stock D16Z6 though, so i'm not sure if the hoses will be the same diameter? (upgrading rad now cuz i'm getting a good price on it...prepare for motor swap oneday)

Not my write-up. Someone at HAN gave me the link. Followed it with some custom mod. Did it in Oct last year. My 1.5 liter dx hoses did not work. not sure about 1.6L. No problems so far. The autox season starts here on the 13Mar. See how it last this season.
