ITR master cylinder coversion on EG
Hey guys,
My master cylinder is leaking on my eg, so I decided to upgrade the brake booster and master cylinder. I picked up an ITR BB and MC, its ready to go into my eg (93 CX), but I don't have disks for the back yet. So basically, I'm completely stock and plan on running ITR BB and MC. Heres are my questions....
Will my brakes be too sensitive with the larger ITR MC and BB?
Will this damage the stock setup that I have on now?
Will the ITR BB fit nicely in my eg?
thanks a lot for any help ...
Happy Holidays!

Re: ITR master cylinder coversion on EG (Aceman64)
^^ thanks ...
but they don't really address my question.
My main question is whether or not my brakes will be too sensitive given that I'm running stock brakes and using a larger MC and BB in the back. And will the added brake pressure damage the shoes in the back. Or anything else for that matter.
I plan to do the rear disk swap later on but I don't have the time to do it just yet. But since my MC is leaking, I decided to upgrade that first.

I don't think his question is answered there...

No it won't be too sensitive... it will take less foot effort to exert the same or more pressure to the calipers/drums...
It will not damage anything... unless you have some worn components like old brake lines (possibility of bursting... but still not very likely)
As far as fitment... it should fit... it will probobly get in the way of certain strut bars... like the carbing for example...
It will be harder to install then say a 15/16ths rs master/booster... as they will bolt straight up to the existing lines... With the ITR you will need to bend and re-flare the lines... it's a p.i.t.a. but not too hard...
I'd recomend practicing on some brake line off the car first so you don't F something up on the first line or two... get good and used to using the flaring tool and bender...
Search around there are some good write ups on installing ITR brakes...

I know that is addressed in there somewhere. I read that whole post the other day looking for some info. I remember that it is a straight bolt on for 96-00 Civic, but dont remember what it said about 92-95 Civic's.

1" MC and ITR BB used.... no additional clearance issues. But pedal feel is very noticable, as already explained up above by a few others. The car has 4-disc GSR brakes on it, and with the addition of the ITR MC & BB, the difference is very noticable and with excellent response on the road course.

puting in the bb is VERY tricky so take your time and try not to force anything in. for my hb i bent the brake lines using this tool they had a pep boys (can't find it anymore). on the integra i just used my hands to bend it

it's a national junkyard locator... it should be able to locate on in your area... then just call to be sure they have honda/acura's there...
hope it helps..

Just buy pre-flared lines from Advance Auto and bend them up with a beer bottle.
No need to flare your own lines.

Re: ITR master cylinder coversion on EG (Bnjmn)
I just posted pics of a JDM style civic on my site, and I asked the same questions, but I was more concerned about the install. http://www.importinsider.com/rr_chrisv.html
I only wish I had pics of the Integra by skunk2 that was built for Pro-SCCA. They used a NSX master brake cylinder and booster, but they were also running AP Racing brakes.

Re: ITR master cylinder coversion on EG (B18G)
From what I have been told 94-95 Integra BB and MC are the only ones that fit without modification, or at least the MC. The bolt pattern was angled in 1996. Have you checked the bolt pattern on your ITR MC? Is it the same? I plan on doing this conversion in the near future so I need to gather info as well.

Thanks for the help guys,
The BB and MC I picked up were off a non-abs ITR, so it bolted up fine. I ended up letting a buddy do my swap since I never used a flaring or bending tool before.
I'm not too sure what year ITR it was off.
I'm doing the rear brakes now, and will probrably do the 4040 prop valve at the same time.
Not fun ... 10 yr old car ... my garage, and winter ... stripped compensator arm bolt ...
