ITR cams into B16A2....what to expect?
I just ordered a set of ITR cams for my B16A2. Ive done my research and come up with a lot of good advice. The one thing I cannot find is what kind of gains i can expect. I know its not gonna be outrageous numbers or anything, but what are your experiences. Does it make any difference? any info is appreciated. Thanks

better power band, a lil more up top. Nothin huge. Just a slightly more aggressive cam, good for stock block street apps (even better if you can bump compression)

well the engine has newer pistons installed. I dont know anything about them because they were installed before i bought the car. I need to do a compression test. Hopefully the cams will give it a little bump in power. Its my dd so im not doing anything wild with it. But i want it to be more powerful than stock.

i'm not positive but i think the itr and ctr intake cams are the same if not, similar to each other. and the exhaust cam on the ctr is more aggresive than the itr exhaust cam.

I have ITR cams in my b16a2. Its going to make your vtec changeover ALOT more noticable. also i noticed that it picked up alot quicker at highway speeds, especially in 5th gear where the b16 was pretty weak before.

Re: (jadugartir)
With OEM cams and stock blocks th difference between the CTR/ITR cams will not be noticeable. And in all honesty on B16 with close to stock compression, don't expect an amazing difference. Like I said before, the power gains are probably minimal but the power band will be improved. I had ITR cams in a b16 head with a b16b block and the gains weren't impressive over stock but the power was more usable if that makes sense.

Re: (jadugartir)
Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully it will be a pretty easy install. Also to all the questions about which one is more agressive....The CTR has 243 duration and ITR has 240 on the intake cam and the lift is the same, and the exhaust cams match.

so if i put ctr pistons in my b16 block would that help even more with some type r cams also on the b16 head? or just leave the b16 block alone? thakns in advance

ctr cams are better then itr
what year itr cams did you get?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I seriously doubt you will notice the difference, not worth it to worry IMHO. Thats just keepin it real. Also keep in mind though that CTR pistons in a b16 are not going to give you the drastic rise in C/R that you get outta the 1.8 blocks with CTR pistons. I don't feel like doing the math, but I'll try and find the online calculator for everyone to bookmark when questions like this arise.
