Before any flames, Ive searched but my computer just spins and wont complete it.

Hopefully this fall next spring Ill be doing a kswap into an eg. I plan on going all motor.. not looking to set any godly speed records, just want a fun, reliable dd

Ive seen MANY kswaps with ITB.. is there any advantage over an intake manifold / cai? if I use ITB will I need filters for them? Is there any real hp / torque gain compared to a CAI? Is it worth the time / money / hassel?

One of the most noticible aspects of installing ITB's is the significant improvement in throttle response. I can also say that they are quite expensive. Worth the performance gain? That I am not certain of.

There's MUCH more to it, and I'll let the more knowlegeable guys take care of it from here. I do not want to spread misinformation.

Although i'm not familiar with K-series enough yet to know if they're worth the money, i know with b-series, ITBs are pretty useless unless you have decently built motor. On a stock/near stock motor, you won't see much of a gain.

Your wallet though will be significantly lighter.

for daily driving, dont do it. getting ITBs to run consistently is difficult. just leave the K20 stock, itll be real quick out of the box anyway.

the benefit of ITBs lies in the midrange and throttle response.. thats it. it might increase top end power, but not by much. move on to a different idea, this one isnt reasonable for your application.

edit: oh yeah.. for the K20, youll need AEM EMS which is an extra $1000, i think. so figure the price of the motor swap, EMS and ITBs. your spending an extra almost $4000 (dont forget tuning) to have a car that wont be reliable.

for a street car you are better off with a ported rbc manifold and bigger tb

a correctly sized set of itb's can make good gains everywhere in the powerband with good throttle response but you need someone with experience tuning them if you ever intend to do any street driving.

itb's should be the last mod you should do to the engine. worry about cams and such first!
