issue with heater
Hey, 1st post here
I have a 94 civic sedan with the D15B7.
My A/C blows cold and the pressure in the system is fine. I see no leaks ans the A/C blows normally on all setitngs but the heat does not work when I slide the slider toward hot. It stays the same temperature
Why does the heat not work when I slide the slider?

thanks a lot

Re: issue with heater
Check the heater cable under the dash and on the firewall. It may not be opening the heater valve on the firewall.
If the cable is fine, try topping off the radiator with coolant and bleeding the cooling system.

Is your temp gauge at the middle of its scale? If not, your thermostat may be stuck open. My HX did this the end of last week before I took a trip. No heat. Put new thermostat in and it works great now. If you are showing mid scale on temp do this:
Open your hood and locate your heater hoses. You'll see the valve in the picture that Ron provided. Take note where the valve is. Now, move the climate controls to the other end of the scale. Check valve again. It should have moved. If not, check that the cable is hooked up behind the climate controls. You can usually take the piece that the ash tray is located off and look up in there. See if it's hooked up and make sure the sheath of the cable is not sliding in the clip.

Re: issue with heater
my tstat I assume is fine
where is the temp needle supposed to stay at when the car is fully warmed up?
3/4? half? 1/4? somewhere else precise?
I can check the cables tomorrow under the hood 1st.
If I move them at the compressor (at the compressor right?) should the temp of the air in the cabin change?
i would like to get this sorted for the winter
thanks guys

Re: issue with heater
heater core inlet could be clogged.if the cable isnt hooked up the slider should have no resistance. if the t stat and fluid levels are fine then if you can access the two heater core hoses touch/hold them both if ones hot and the others not nearly as hot then ur core is plugged.

Re: issue with heater
the reason my slider had such little resistance was because the mechanisnm on the blower side (under the passenger footwell) was sorta jammed up.
I looked up under there (nothing had to be taken apart) and I finnagled it a little and boom I have heat.
I had checked first on the slider slide and it was fine. I had to remove the radio to do so but that was easy.
READY 4 WINTER IN OHIO....gonna get my Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tires mounted up soon. Found a set cheap but they are 15 inch
gonna have to get them up my Kosei K1 wheels which I had originally planned only for summer tires. can't beat 50 bucks for 4 tires though
