ISSUE: CAR OVERHEAT
My car is overheating!!!
I did:
-put in brand new radiator
-brand new thermostat
-hoses are brand new
- fan works perfect
Problem:
-heat hose I took one of them off completely fine. the other heater hose I took off the enter opening that the tube goes into was squeezed shut. I opened it up with plyiers and put the heater valve on open.
I could not get the tube all the way around tight and its spraying just a little antifreeze will that little leak cause my engine to overheat?
Is there things that the heater valve connects to that could cause a problem?
how do I get to the heater portion of my car its hidden? If I fix this hose and it still over heats whats my next move?

Re: ISSUE: CAR OVERHEAT
replace the hose and do a 10 min flush and fill to proper level ur colent might not be circulating properly due to the hose. but how quick is it over heating??

Even a drip will overheat your engine. Do you know how much pressure is kept in the cooling system of a car? If you wanna find out, open the radiator cap after you drove for a while and put your face on it before you completely open the cap. If the cap hit your face, you will be able to tell the pressure....... No leak is acceptable when it comes to cooling system!

Re: ISSUE: CAR OVERHEAT
what they said bleed it properly turn the heater control to hot and wait to fans come on if still overheating pretty sure you need a head gasket since you did everything else already but first bleed system properly

bleed it, coolant, and dont forget the fan switch. also did you get junk thermostat? the are defective sometimes. take it out and test it, or return it, and replace it....

open the radiator cap and look inside. does it have a sheen like oil on top of water? smell your oil cap, does it smell sweet? if so, tell tell signs of headgasket going bad. also water pumps develop leaks too. just changed mine due to it leaking. but it will leak on the floor where the water pump is located, and where there are no hoses.....
