intsalling indiglos
hey i was just installing my indiglo gauge faces and the center hole of the speedometer gauge face was too small to get around the base of the needle so i had to sort of force it through and it bent the indiglo face a little. but im wondering if this could have fucked up my needles?

Re: intsalling indiglos (livindalifeofVTEC)
I installed the indiglo guages in my 99 Civic EX. So it should be about the same. When you pull your dash apart you will see the two lights that luminate your stock guages. Well the one on the left side you will see has two wires running into it. Thoes are the two wires that are connected to your dash ilumination lights. Just cut them there and connect the indiglo wires.
Good luck

Re: intsalling indiglos (spyder)
the kind of indiglos i bought are the ones that come with a switch were you can select blue or green. It says not to connect the wires to the factory dimmer... is that what is connected to the lights in the dash?

Re: intsalling indiglos (livindalifeofVTEC)
Well mine is not the type with the switch. When I bought them I asked the shop if it was ok to connect it to the dimmable circut. They said sure. I am not sure if it differs with the switchable ones. If you want to connect directly to the Parking lights the best place to get it is in the kick panel on the driver side. There is the white keyless module. Look for a red/black wire. Thoes are the parking lights. And for the thing that says the metal **** that is the ground wire. Under or in your dash there should be some other ground connections you can put it there. Basicly all it is, is a solid connection to BARE metal on the chassis of your car. If you are not exactly sure how to wire it then take it to a shop. It is not a difficult job to do, but if you are unsure, there is no shame in asking for help!

Re: intsalling indiglos (99VTECex)
well.. i connected the red wire to the wire that goes to the light/dimmer in the dash and the black wire to a piece of metal somewhere in the back. Nothing seemed to go wrong, indiglos work perfectly, i can still switch between blue and green and brightness... so i think it was ok. thanks for all the help.
