Intermittent wiper problem

Intermittent wiper problem
I have a 00 Civic dx sedan that has been converted lx with factory parts.
I did use an sedan ex firewall harness, only difference that I know of is that it has ABS wiring, and my car does not have ABS. Left plugs hanging.
The intermittent wipers only work with the running lights/headlights on.
I am am trying to focus on a tie between the two, wiper switch and headlight switch but my head is spinning right now thinking about it. My multimeter is crap and I need to get a new one. I’ve swapped both switches with probably good switches, and I’ve swapped the ICU with a known good unit. Help, brain hurts.

Re: Intermittent wiper problem
Also the function where you pull the switch and to spray the windshield.. works, but it doesn’t engage the wipers briefly as it should. Unless the headlights are on!

Re: Intermittent wiper problem
When seemingly unrelated electrical things interact, it's likely a bad ground.
I think the intermittent feature and other wiper operations are controlled by the multifunction module on the back of the fuse panel.

Re: Intermittent wiper problem
The solution was replacing the little deal that detects when the key is in the ignition. It’s somewhat part of the ignition switch harness. Dissecting And old harness for the part and installing it into this one. Yay!
Now on to figuring out the cruise control.
