Just got a 1999 civic DX sedan when I try to start it usely will take 3 cranks of the key sometimes it won't start I feel after it warms up it usely starts every time it runs great after it starts what's going on I know someone knows what's go in on I can't find help with this anywhere? I feel it's spark but could be wrong please let me know if anybody has had this problem and got it fixed

I checked for spark when it didn't start and I had Spark I listen for the fuel pump to cut on. Every time I turn the key on I could hear the fuel pump cut on kept listening a few times and then I felt what I heard like it Prime because it didn't sound every time the same so this time that I heard it sound different I tried starting the car and it started right up what do you think about that?

Just so you know, if you read the Factory Service Manual (Helms Manual) you will find even Honda say "intermittent" issues are not diagnose able until it fails.

Simply, you can't figure out what is going wrong until the time it's not starting. Once it starts, FSM states to wait until it fails.

It isn't the starter because the starter cranks the engine every time I just replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump it has helped but I still think I have a fuel issue it in getting spark at the plugs when it wont start what else could it be I hear the relay kick in then the fuel pump does the what else could i look at in the fuel system?

thanks guys even though I could hear the fuel pump come on every time it must hadn't had enough pressure to do the job I changed to fuel pump and now it seems to start fine
